Seeing the old opera house in Trinidad astonished me. It would be like seeing an opera house in my hometown of Tomah. Like seeing the remnants of an NFL stadium in my rural Wisconsin hometown. It shouldn't be there. I guess times were different in the late 1800s when mining meant riches for some and poverty for the people who actually did all the work. You can see that the building does not represent opulence anymore.
